Sesame Green Beans

I recently had some sesame green beans while eating dinner at a friends house. I loved the beans and wanted to re-create them at home. My girlfriend was out of town on a much needed vacation so I looked online to find a similar recipe. I chose this Martha Stewart recipe because it seemed similar to the one my friend made. When I prepared the sauce, it seemed too tangy so I added some soy sauce to

Carrot-Ginger Rice

I can't tell you how much I loved this rice! It was sweet, spicy, and so flavorful. The ginger and cayenne pepper really gave the rice a nice kick, the tender onions and carrots made it sweet, and the cilantro gave it a great flavor punch. It was the perfect side dish to my Garlic-Ginger Chicken Thighs and Sesame Green Beans. I can't wait to make this one again.Carrot-Ginger Rice:Recipe and

Teriyaki Chicken Thighs

I wanted a quick and healthy meal for dinner. I found a tasty looking recipe on the Food Network by Ellie Krieger for teriyaki chicken thighs that looks simple and delicious. I adapted the recipe a bit by using chicken stock instead of dry sherry and added just a touch of sesame oil to the marinade for added flavor. They turned out tender and so flavorful and my entire family enjoyed them. I

Chicken Rice Noodle Salad with Peanuts and Spicy Lime Vinaigrette

I found this recipe on the Thai Kitchen website and was excited to give it a try. My family loves Asian noodle salads so this one was sure to be a hit. It was easy to make and took very little time. The noodles cook quickly so you don't have to heat up your kitchen (which is great for the hot summer days). I loved the flavors and textures of this salad. The soft noodles, crisp vegetables, and

Red Curry Pork with Tomatoes and Snow Peas over Jasmine Rice

I love getting packages in the mail, especially if they contain tasty food. I received a kitchen kit from Thai Kitchen recently and was very excited to cook with their products. I am intimidated when it comes to cooking Asian food but these products make it so easy. I found a couple recipes on their website that would use most of the products they sent. This recipe was simple to make and tasted

Asian Inspired Braised Beef Short Ribs

My rib loving sister was visiting us so I decided to make her some ribs. We picked up some beef short ribs at the store and decided to marinate them in an Asian style sauce then braise them in the oven low and slow. They were so unbelievably tender, flavorful, and delicious. The meat just fell off the bones and melted in our mouths. My kids LOVED them as much as my husband, my sister, and I did.

General Tsao Chicken with Brown Rice and Broccoli

I didn't have time to do an elaborate recipe today after taking the kids to swimming lessons after school. I found this General Tsao sauce at Trader Joe's and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did! It was very flavorful and spicy on the chicken and my husband and I both loved it. I served this chicken with brown rice and steamed broccoli. The sauce was too spicy for my kids, so I served
